 | Labs Researchers on Winning Team - Netflix Awards $50,000 Progress Prize for 2008
Congratulations to Chris Volinsky and Bob Bell for being recipients of the 2008 Netflix $50,000 Progress Prize for the second year in a row. This year, Team BellKor collaborated with Yehuda Koren at Yahoo Research and researchers at Commendo Research in Austria to upgrade Netflix's Cinematch recommendation engine by 9.44%. | Multimodal Voice Search for IPTV 
The Voice-Activated Remote combines the latest WATSON voice recognition and natural language understanding technologies with advanced voice search capability to provide a powerful tool for finding both TV content and movies on demand. Instead of going through an on-screen program guide or pressing up/down buttons endlessly to find a show, you simply press a Talk button on the Voice-Activated Remote and then speak a search command such as "American Idol" or "Movies with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt".
